Nestled in the heart of Hood River is a true labor of love handbuilt by a husband (Daniel) for his wife (Angelina) as dedication to her son Christian Alois who unexpectedly passed in 2021 at thirty one, blindsided by illness, and her surviving daughter Ana, and grandkids.
As you slowly enter the cave, a deep level of stillness surrounds you as a seven foot cherub wing invites you in as its guardian offering healing, hope, deep rest, and the invitation to explore through self-reflection.
"After Angelina opened the door and I stepped inside her cave, as I looked around, I felt a deep, deep sense of peace overcome me."
Over 'one million touches' meticulously hand-placed by Daniel, of off white non-toxic corn starch beads, encourage a sensory exploration.
Handplaced Sandstone and Basalt Rock enhance the room’s thermal stability creating the microclimate required to deliver halotherapy, reflects and pays homage to the Columbia River Gorge geologically.
"I enjoyed my experience with Angelina, educating and guiding me through her holistic wellness package. She even followed up with wellness recommendations by email. And I had fun with Initium!"
What is Halotherapy? It's the inhaling of fine, dry salt air to help improve one's respiratory system, skin health and offers stress-relief benefits in every session. That good feeling we experience walking the beach after inhaling sea salt water mist triggers our brain to release serotonin just like we get pain relief after gargling salt water.
Hi, I'm Angelina, and welcome to FROH Wellness Spa and the Hood River Salt Cave offering services 'by appointment only' as guided sessions are personalized for you throughout your experience.
