Hood River Spa & Sea Salt Cave

World Record: '1 Million Touches' (~1,080,000)' to Build the Sea Salt Cave + 7' Cherub Wing

Nestled in the heart of downtown Hood River is a labor of love hand built by a husband (Daniel) for his wife (Angelina) who has dedicated this to her son (Chris).

This quiet manmade sea salt cave offers a unique wellness experience for seekers of wellness benefits evidenced at European Salt Mines and oceanshores.

An accidental World Record was achieved as it took over 'one million touches' for Daniel to meticulously hand-place each non-toxic packing bead on its walls, ceiling and its lovely seven-foot Cherub Wing which greets you as its guardian.

Daniel created a quiet space for Angelina to be enveloped with healing, hope, and deep rest. A private sanctuary she shares with explorers and seekers of unique wellness experiences which help nourish and nurture their mind, body and spirits.

As you enter, the salt cave's stillness and dim lighting invites sensory exploration as bare feet and toes welcome the texture of 3000 pounds of Baja Gold Sea Salt to rake, meditate, and create a Salt Angel in before reclining to nap.

Enjoy the benefits of European salt mines, coastal beaches and beach caves. Our walls are lined with sandstone and basalt rock to help regulate this microclimate while paying homage to the geology of the Columbia River Gorge.

The familiar benefits of halotherapy: reduced inflammation or pain when we gargle with salt water, skin benefits of an Epsom salt bath, the spray of saline in our sinuses for respiratory comfort. That 'happy feeling' we experience walking alongisde the seashore while inhaling saltwater mist.

Hood River FROH Wellness Spa & Salt Therapy Reviews

REVIEW ★★★★★
I surprised my wife with their Couple's Package for our fifteen year anniversary. I think I was surprised even more than she was by the whole experience. Learned a lot. From the vibration plate benefits to submitting to the cinnamon steam (ha ha). The sound bowls were cool to tap and try and raking salt in the cave. My salt cave nap was so restful. Loved the photo with my wife in front of the cherub wing. FROH's treats was a tasteful way to awaken and welcome us back to reality.”

Oh, I love it. I love it. I've been in here a few times now. It's just amazing and it's just been peaceful. Time flies in the cave. It's been playing with the salt, making snow angels. So, if you haven't been down here, I really encourage you to check it out. Appointments set are by text, do so for a good time to come down and it's just an awesome place built with love. A really, really a wonderful sanctuary for healing.”

I recommend for an afternoon of rest and relaxation. This experience was wonderful! From the warm welcome to the relaxing vibration plate and salt foot soak. I loved the red light therapy, and most of all the cinnamon steam on my face! Ended the session with a peaceful hour in the salt cave which put me to sleep. And before we left enjoyed the hot stone on our feet with a chocolate treat. Loved everything about this experience, especially meeting the wonderful host!!”

Beyond a tourist attraction, it's a deep healing and reset experience. My sinus passages open up and my body just melted into a puddle of deep relaxation. I napped deeply, and decided to extend my stay with another session. So mindful and caring. An amazing job designing this cave installation. I'm absolutely coming back. For travelers, this unique healing experience will help to reset your mind and body.”

The Salt Cave is one of the most peaceful and grounding spaces I've visited. I'm on the road a lot traveling so it was a quiet sanctuary for me, which was deeply calming and powerfully centering. The natural design and energy invites you to slow down, breathe deeper, and reset. I also enjoyed the red light therapy, the cinnamon steaming, and a castor oil foot detox with warm Himalayan salt lamps underfoot. The perfect blend of comfort and care. A genuinely committed space for people to rest, heal, and feel better. Can't wait to return!”

The salt cave was amazing today. I wasn't really sure what to expect. It was an incredibly relaxing and really enlivening experience. Even though the most of the practice was completely still, I feel refreshed and renewed. My pores feel different. My whole body feels different from going through the experience. I just feel just better. It's hard to describe. I'm really looking forward to going and seeing how the rest of the day takes place with this new feeling in my body.”
